Dear PCF family, this past Sunday I read you a study done about the huge life changing benefits of reading your bible at least 4 days per week. Here is what the study found: (And remember, the study said that these amazing changes did not happen for most people who only opened their bibles less than for times a week.)

  1. Feeling lonely drops 30%
  2. Anger issues drop 32%
  3. Bitterness in relationships drops 40%
  4. Alcoholism drops 57%
  5. Sex outside of marriage drops 68%
  6. Feeling spiritually stagnant drops 60%
  7. Viewing pornography drops 61%
  8. Sharing your faith jumps 200%
  9. Discipling others jumps 230%

The purpose of reading the bible is not so we can check something off our daily to do list!  Reading the bible needs to become a labor of love because you are truly seeking the living God and knowing He speaks to us through the bible. God wants to speak to you personally through the scriptures! I cannot emphasize that enough. Now I realize that when we begin to add anything new into our daily schedules it does take discipline and commitment, but I think you are going to find that when you go to the bible regularly because you truly want God to be the center of every area of your life, your relationship with the bible and even more important your relationship with God is going to deepen to the point where you know you just cannot live without Him or His words.
