Dear Praise Community Fellowship family and friends, our PCF board met this past Monday via Zoom and I am always so happy to have such a wonderful, dedicated group of people to work with. Our board members are: Gary Watson president, Lori Rodgers secretary, Savannah Halbe treasurer, Sally McLaughlin connection committee, Brad Joiner events committee. We also have serving Mark Reeder, Darlene Hanks, and Steve Porter. Like the entire PCF family they are all a joy to work with and I want to thank them for all they do.

Offerings: Those of you who have been with PCF know that it is rare that I ever talk about offerings mainly because everyone has always been so generous. I want to remind everyone that since we have gone to Facebook live that offerings are being accepted by mail. If you have an offering for our church, it can be sent to Savannah Halbe, 3486 Manassas Drive, Edwardsville, Illinois 62025. I will thank all of you in advance for your generosity. One of the questions I’m sure some of you may have regarding taking offerings for a church that is 100% volunteer with extremely low overhead. Why do we need to take offerings? That is a good question so let me address that. Here are our fixed expenses.

  1. Insurance: we carry liability as well as insure all our music equipment. We carry professional liability for the pastor (me) and the board. Our policy costs about $1,100.00 per year.
  2. When we are meeting at Immanuel we have rent which has been $1,000 per month.
  3. We, as a church family support African Vision of Hope, Beverly Farm, and many local organizations such as Edwardsville School nurses who know of children in the Edwardsville school district with needs.
  4. Glen-Ed pantry
  5. We pack and serve lunches to the district 7 children who have need. Thanks to Nelleke and her crew of volunteers who are serving hundreds of Kids in the Edwardsville School District.  Most of the food they pack is being provided by TWIGS but we make donations to them to help with the program.
  6. We are also contacted throughout the year for various needs from families and organizations and we regularly make donations to these needs. The bottom line is, we are a very generous church and we want to stay that way. But it is only through your offerings that we can maintain that generosity. So thank you everyone for your support. And of course, giving is a way to love others, and when we combine our resources as a church, we can have a deeper and greater impact on those we love with our gifts and what we can accomplish together for God’s Kingdom.

Important Assignment: I need help!  I’m looking for people to go to our website, www.praisecommunityfellowship.com , which is very outdated, and begin making notes and ideas about what we should do to update our site. What should we eliminate? What should we add? I need thoughts, ideas and comments. Then, I need to put together a committee that will tackle a new web site! So those of you who are computer savvy, now is your time to shine! If you are interested in serving on this committee please contact me and let me know.

This Coming Sunday: Answering a Common Question: “How Do I Know If I am Really Saved?”   As always, I will go to the Bible to help answer this common question. I will be looking at one of my favorite bible stories from a new perspective that I recently had on this story. Jennifer and I will be live at 10:00am Sunday on the Praise Community Fellowship facebook page. And by the way, I know most of you know exactly how to find us now on Facebook, but as many of you have noticed, there is another Praise Community Fellowship Church so you have to be careful what link you click on.

Peace and blessings to all of you. Love, pastor kent
