Can you say this and mean it?

Dear PCF family and friends, we will be kicking off the first Worship Service of 2024 this coming Sunday, January 7th at 10:30am. The last couple of months of 2023 we enjoyed a full church each Sunday and a growing Sunday school and nursery. I am excited to see what God wants all of us to do this coming year.

The purpose of church is to prepare people for the KIngdom of Heaven. In the Lord’s prayer we pray “Thy Kingdom Come and Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven!”  We come together to worship our father and we come to learn the stories and the teachings of the bible. The bible is our field guide in this life. God uses the church, his followers, to do His will and His work on this earth. We are to be Jesus’ voice, arms, legs, hands, ears, and heart, that is why we are called the body of Christ.

None of us do it perfectly, but we come together regularly to learn and support one another through our struggles as we do the work of Jesus in the broken world we live in. The Church is vital to bringing light into the dark world. At PCF we collect offerings so that we can feed the hungry, help fill needs in the lives of people who have fallen on tough times, and we are there to support people in physical ways too. We visit the sick, we help people who need a assistance, and we pray for one another…Oh that is a vital one! And the beauty of the church is, we all have special gifts which God can use.  So I am asking all of you who make PCF such an amazing place to put our church on your prayer list and pray for God’s wisdom and guidance so that we continue to expand His Kingdom as He directs us.

There are many reasons to be excited about our church this coming year. The music department, the volunteers, the Sunday school classes, the young families who are joining us, the international students who are becoming part of our family. We have so much to be grateful for. Praise Community Fellowship welcomes all of you and we are grateful for you.

The board will be meeting together for the first time next Tuesday at 6:00pm and we will begin planning the year. Let me or Gary Watson our Board president know if you have thoughts or ideas that we can discuss at our upcoming board meeting.  I will see you Sunday. Love, pastor Kent
