Early Morning Sunrise Glik Park by Sue Wooden
Good morning PCF family, it’s amazing that God in His wisdom has chosen certain groups of people to be together to worship His son Jesus. We call this gathering a church. In our wonderful congregation we have people from many different walks of life, young, middle aged, retired, all different education levels and very diverse work backgrounds yet we meet together because of Jesus. He has drawn us together to become a Christian family. I have been spending time in the book of Acts, written by Luke, because it gives the story of the how the very first church came together. The power of the Holy Spirit fell upon the believers and they were empowered to begin boldly sharing the Gospel. Now, here we are 2000+ years later doing what the very first believers did, they met and took care of one another in many ways. This happened because their hearts were changed. They were moved by the power of the Holy Spirit to practice Christian love. When we follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit we become less self focused and our hearts and eyes are opened to seeing and feeling the pain, sorrows, needs, as well as the joys and celebrations of others as being important to us. Why? Because we have received the Spirit of Jesus, we are now his brothers and sisters. His Spirit has entered us and is now teaching and filling us with His ways of love and wisdom.
I am grateful for our little church because we are learning and stepping out in love and faith into the lives of others. Let’s do what the book of Hebrews teaches us in Chapter 10:24-25, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Update on Paige Burton: she is home after a successful surgery to repair the fracture in her arm. She was still in quite a bit of pain when I spoke with her but she is back home. Let’s continue to lift her to God’s healing grace.
Great music planned for this Sunday! Come and receive your PCF love and make sure to welcome any visitors that may be joining us.
See you Sunday, Love, pastor kent
