The PCF family pancake and sausage breakfast is this Saturday from 9:00am til 11:00am at the church.
Good morning PCF family, sometimes the Gospel message comes in a way that is direct, short, and to the point. This past week this quote from 1 John was on my daily Scripture reading: 1 John 5:1. “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” In this very direct scripture there are still questions such as, “What does “Have” mean in this scripture?” It’s always good to look at the big picture and understanding other similar scriptures when we are seeking deeper understanding from the bible. There is another scripture that may help us understand 1 John 5:1 a little better. It is found in John 3:36. And before I share that scripture, I find that sometimes it helps to look at various bible interpretations like the NIV, the NKJV, the NLT, the ESV and others. All of these different versions and more can be found on the Bible Gateway app that you can download for no charge. You can easily compare many versions simply by putting in the verse you are looking up and then switching between the various versions. So in John 3:36 here are three different versions
- ESV Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
- NIV Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
- NLT And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.’
Keep seeking the truth in all things and God will honor your desire to know HIm better.
