Dear PCF Family, Last Sunday, I used the story of the rich man asking Jesus the question, “What must I do to inherit eternal life?” And it was in this story that Jesus told His disciples, “with man, it is impossible, but with God, everything is possible!” of course that statement by Jesus must be put into the context of the story to have an understanding of what He meant.
This Sunday, I a going to continue with a similar story that was inspired by a new powerful song the choir will be singing. So I am really looking forward to this weekend when we get to come together to worship and be with one another.
Reminder: We need a head count for the BBQ dinner coming up on Saturday June 27th at 5:00pm at the church. We have had another cook enter the picture for this dinner, Jim Dwyer says he can really do BBQ right so this will be a real treat because He and Al will both be providing our dinner. I guess this will be our first BBQ cook off. Please sign up with Nelleke this Sunday! Our mission will be the TWIGS program that we have supported for several years now. The dinners we have at our church from time to time are really meant to help all of us to get to know one another better. Sharing a meal with your church family and sharing stories with someone you don’t know that well can build deeper and stronger relationships with one another. Jesus ate with his disciples because it was a way for them to share a unity that lead to a bond that ending being eternal for the 11. Get to know your church family! That is the beauty of having a smaller church. You can learn so much when you have a meal with someone and just have a conversation with them. Sign up and join us on June 27th. How wonderful would it be to find another amazing friend that you can look forward to seeing on a Sunday morning?
Reminder, If you can park in the soccer field lot Sunday mornings it would be greatly appreciated. That allows those with less mobility and small children to have better parking access.
What is Faith? Faith is a confident trust in God. We trust what God has said in the bible as being true. But as James says, “Faith without action is dead! In other words, you will see no results unless you apply the teachings of Jesus into your daily life! Do what He says! The only way for us to build our faith, is by trusting the truth of God’s word and we do that by putting his teachings into action. It is THEN that you will begin experiencing the reality and the power of God in your circumstances of your life. Come this Sunday and learn much more…….
Have you thought about the question, “If you could sit down with Jesus and ask him one question, what would that question be?”
The choir was amazing this past week at rehearsal, you won’t want to miss this Sunday !
Love, pastor Kent
