Good morning brothers and sisters in Jesus, blessings, joy and God’s peace to all of you. I think every one of us need God’s blessing, His peace, and the joy that only He can provide. Although I do not follow any news source I do hear some of the chatter while in my car and some news stories that pop up on my phone. I put my trust in God, not in the news. I have found that many people lose their peace because of what they are listening to. And it works both ways, if the news is such that it fits their word view, they are elated and doing the happy dance regardless if what is being said is true or not. As Christians we are to seek God’s truth in all things.  If you are a follower and believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and you have a bible, then you have all the Good News you need every day regardless of what is being said in a news broadcast. Here is God’s news about what is to come:

Ephesians 1:9-10  “God has now revealed to us his mysterious will regarding Christ—which is to fulfill his own good plan.  And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.”   What day that will be. No more sorrow, pain, tears, or hate. Just peace, joy, and love.

Name Tag November continues this Sunday. Make sure to fill out your name tag when you come into the church

Now here is some good news!  You are invited to a Thanksgiving Dinner, November 13th, Next Friday! Our brothers and sisters from  GST church would love to welcome you to the table at Grace Spirit and Truth Ministries’ Thanksgiving Dinner. Let’s come together to share a meal, give thanks, and enjoy the warmth of being together. Your presence would make this gathering even more special.  Dine-In or Carry-Out available.  We look forward to sharing this meaningful time with you! November 13th at 5:pm at the church. We need reservations so we know how many we will be serving so please call Tammy Smart at 618-401-6786 to make a reservation.

Our church is close to having our new website up and running. Once we get this all checked out we will start working on a new audio visual system to broadcast the sermons so they will be very clear to watch and listen to. We also will be working on getting the sermons broadcast to the tv monitor in the Sunday School room as well as one in the fellowship hall to be used in case we ever need to have extra seating. I will share more as we progress with this development.

Toys for the Community Hope Center, you will see a big barrel outside the sanctuary entrance and we will be collecting toys for Christmas. They should be new unwrapped toys. Thank you for helping the children.

Prayers requested:

  • Leland Knapp, I spoke with Mary Wednesday and Lee is home. She said he was getting up in the apartment and can walk a short distance. This is great progress.
  • Faye Heuchert,  I spoke with Brad this past week and Faye is recovering from her fall but he showed me pictures of her and she really took a bad fall so continue to pray for Faye’s recovery.
  • Austin Garret for complete healing of His back so he can get back to work.
  • Shelly Johnson who is the daughter of Linda Huckaby. Shelly was involved in a serious accident some months back and incurred some brain bleeds but also has diabetes, Potts disease, Ehlers Danlos syndrome, and Dercums Disease. Shelly needs prayers for God’s blessings of peace, comfort, healing and wisdom as she deals with all these issues.

I’m looking forward to being with all of you Sunday. Sincerely, pastor kent
