This Sunday PCF will be leading worship at 8:45am. It is the most wonderful time of the year especially if you have the power of Jesus in your life. Could this Christmas be the best one yet? What I can promise is that this Christmas can be the beginning of a whole new way of life if you are ready to try a new path. You may have to get a new power source.

We have completed the winter clothing gift certificate program we gave to our weekend lunch kids. All 50 $50.00 dollar gift certificates were used by the kids to buy warm clothes! Thank all of you who support to the PCF ministries.  IUMC and PCF are both actively supporting the new backpack lunch program by supplying about 100 lunches per week to the schools here in district 7. This program is funded by TWIGS. Thank you to all the volunteers who are helping make this ministry possible. Call Faye Heuchert if you would like to participate in this wonderful ministry for children. Even if you can help just once it will be appreciated. Faye can be reached at 618-444-5650.

What does God have in store for us this coming year? The board will be meeting this next Monday to begin discussing the possibilities. We will keep you posted.

Announcements from our IUMC brothers and sisters.

CHRISTMAS CANTATA THIS SUNDAY Singers made up from several local churches will present the Christmas Cantata “Silent Was the Night” this Sunday at our 10:45 am worship service.  Under the direction of David Bryant, the cantata captures the calm, quiet celebration of Christmas, offering an alternative to the overdone, commercialized celebration of the holiday.  Immanuel members Jill Garbs, soprano,  and Don Schaake, narrator, are a part of this presentation.

55+ FELLOWSHIP THIS SUNDAy  All are invited to meet this Sunday, December 10, at 5:30 pm in the Journey’s Inn room for a Christmas get-together.  Please bring finger foods to share with everyone.  This year we also want to share our blessings by donating to the Glen-Ed Pantry.  Please bring something to be given to children who are in need of a fun and happy Christmas morning.  This can be new toys for all ages, as well as gift cards geared to the slightly older teens.  (Please no iTunes cards, as the Pantry has a lot of these.)  We hope to celebrate our 55+ Christmas with YOU, no matter your age.

POINSETTIAS . If you would still like to place a poinsettia in our altar area in memory or in honor of a loved one this Christmas, we have three poinsettias that need to be claimed.  (We had to order in groups of 6 from the wholesaler.)  The cost of a poinsettia is $9.00.  You can call the church office, or sign on the sheet in the Hospitality Room.  618-656-4648.
