God provided Manna in the desert for the Israelites as they wandered with Him. The wandering was God’s way of showing them that His words and promises are true and that He is trustworthy. The manna was a daily reminder of His reliability but it came with instructions. They were to gather it every morning except on the Sabbath. They could gather as much as they needed and wanted but they were not to store it for the next day except for the Sabbath. A lesson of God teaching them, I am here, I will take care of you, now here are my instructions. When you read this story found in Exodus 16, at the beginning of this story God says, “I will test them in this to see whether or not they will follow my instructions.”
Have we changed since then? Not so much. God has given us an entire instruction manual so we can learn wisdom and apply it to our lives. I can’t wait until Sunday when we gather in Jesus name to worship and seek wisdom from His book of knowledge and truth.
Notice: Robin will be out of town this coming Sunday so we will not have a Sunday school teacher available for the little ones but you know that they are welcome to come and join us anyway!
