Since we don’t meet today, here is your Sunday thought:
How much free will do we really have? Did we choose when we were born? Did we choose our parents? Did we choose our race, our genes, our family or the country we were born in? Do people get to choose when and how they die or whether they get a horrible disease or have a bad accident? The reason I bring this up is because I think we have taken “Free Will” too far in Christianity. Many of us, including myself, have been taught and believe that we chose Jesus so our salvation was up to us. But the bible seems to indicate differently. In 1 John 4:19 it says,“We love Him because He first loved us!” and in John 15:16 it says, “You did not choose me but I chose you” . If our salvation really is as simple as us making a choice it starts looking like that is salvation by works. We did something to get saved. This will be another topic I will be discussing soon where we are going to look at two or maybe even three sides of the fence. Just remember this. Jesus came to save “ALL” people!
The story ends very well for everyone! Now that is good news! See you soon. Enjoy the day. Pray for one another, love one another, take care of one another.
