I’m looking forward to the PCF Easter Celebration. I am praying for a great moving of the Holy Spirit to awaken our hearts to the life changing power of knowing and walking with Jesus to all who come to our service.
Today in Christian history Jesus meets His disciples for what has become known as the Last supper. It was at this gathering Jesus demonstrated what Godly humility means. He washed his disciples feet before the passover meal. This type of service was usually performed by a servant, never the guest of honor or by a priest of the day. Jesus was demonstrating who his followers were to become, servants to others. Those who humble themselves will be exalted, those who exalt themselves will be humbled.
This Sunday we celebrate Easter. The word Easter actually comes from a non Christian Goddess of spring. Christians have kept the term to denote the resurrection of Jesus, the bringing in of new hope and life because of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
We will celebrate Easter as a Christian family this Sunday at 9:00am. Let the Holy Spirit be awakened in all who come to worship!
Our prayer updates:
- Jason Burton update, Jason is a good friend of Gary and Cathy Watson. Jason is in his 40’s with a young family and has been diagnosed with cancer. Jason got some not so good news this past week. His PET scan showed that the latest round of Chemo was not working so he will now have a stem cell procedure. Cathy and Gary informed me that he is also fighting the insurance company over treatment coverage. We are asking for prayers that his insurance company approves the latest treatment plan!
- Paige Burton update, Paige has had her hip surgery April 6th. She is doing good but is still sore. She is just beginning to walk without a walker. Please continue to lift Paige to God’s healing hands.
- Beverly Farm, like so many places throughout the country, Beverly Farm is experiencing severe employee shortages. This is particularly hard on care giving facilities because of the absolute necessity of the residents needing proper care. Beverly Farm needs to hire about 150 care givers ASAP. Lord, we need a miracle. Please send the right 150 people to fill the vacancies at BF so that residents can continue to receive proper care and that the workers who are there can get back to a more manageable schedule.
- All those in The Edwardsville Glen Carbon area who do not yet know the life changing power of Jesus, that they will find Jesus and a church family this Easter that blesses them!
- Jim Cerbie, Jim is Bill and Judy Daubenspeck’s Brother-in-law. Jim is 87 and has inoperable lung cancer and has been diagnosed with Alzheimers. We lift Jim and his wife to God’s peace, strength and comfort.
- The people of Ukraine and Russia who do not want the war.
- Don Kruckeberg, Continued prayers for God’s Healing peace and strength. We pray that Don may be surrounded with God’s love and peace.
