Whenever you are having one of those days that just makes you say, “Now What?” I have found that that is a real good time to go to prayer because God is the only one who knows exactly what the “Now What! should be. Prayer is the tool that God has given His church to tap into His wisdom for answers to all of our “Now What” moments.  So let prayer be at the top of your list when you have one of those “Now What” days.

One of the major causes of emotional angst in people comes from self focus. As Christians we are to focus on God and others not self. How do I know this? I look at the life of Jesus. Jesus had a mission, to save people from eternal death and help them to live an abundant life here and now. He came as a servant to mankind. He did not come to serve himself, he came to serve and lead all of us living in a fallen world. When you become a Christian, you are committing to follow and walk with Jesus. He is your model for living a successful rewarding life. There is one question Jesus never asked and we need to learn from this. Jesus never asked the question, “What about me?”  If you want to greatly improve your emotional stability and joy, I suggest you drop that question from your vocabulary. If it pops up, and it will from time to time, flush it immediately! It is only going to cause you emotional unrest.

  • Give love with no expectations
  • Be peaceful and kind with no expectations
  • Forgive with no expectations
  • Be generous with no expectations

Practice these things and watch what happens to your peace and Joy levels.   Hope to see you soon. Love, pastor kent

Our first family dinner of 2023 will be on February 19th at 5:00pm at the church. We are having a catered fried chicken dinner from DK’s and we want to see you and your family there! We will once again be taking reservations so we know how much food to order. Nelleke will be taking the reservations at the services and we will be accepting them up until February 12th! This is a great gathering to get to know your spiritual family better. Just good food and good fellowship. Our mission for this dinner is The Good Samaritan House in Granite City. I’ll be posting specific items needed on the next blog.

There is another way to give to the church and that is by going to our webpage http://www.praisecommunityfellowship.com  and using the VENMO or Paypal app. if this makes it more convenient for you.
