What do you need to hear this Sunday? A great song? An uplifting message? My prayer is that you hear from the Holy Spirit which can happen in a song, the message, or even during a time of silence. The Holy Spirit is the bearer and redeemer of God’s truth. It is through the power of the Holy Spirit that burdens are relieved, stress is melted, direction is given, and answers to pressing problems are found. When we gather together on a Sunday, it doesn’t matter if you are a musician, a singer, the pastor, a greeter, or a person in the pew, we should all be seeking the touch of the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit’s touch, we cannot experience the magnificence of God or the truth of Grace that Jesus is offering. It is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that church can become life changing and empowering. As a pastor I must rely on the Holy Spirit to empower my words because without his presence I will be waisting your time and mine. My suggestion to anyone attending a service this Sunday, no matter what church, pray for the blessing of the Holy Spirit to awaken in your heart otherwise you will miss God and His Holiness and life changing power.

Without the touch of the Holy Spirit, church will be just another activity on your already overburdened schedule that will add more stress and will not and cannot be the life enhancing and life changing experience that so many are seeking today. So help me and everyone who will gather with us this Sunday and begin praying for God to pour out His Holy Spirit on all who gather. Amen!

Communion this Sunday.

These supplies are for the schools and orphanage of AVOH. If you can help please call Bob Bertels at 531-7367 for times and details. He told me with enough help this project can be accomplished in a couple of hours.

Amazing Grace at Logan Place is seeking volunteers this Saturday. Shauna Boad is progressing with this ministry as a safe place for young women to become all God has for them. Kid’s Night Out Changes . Our next Kid’s Night Out will be held on Friday, March 9th.  Due to the tremendous growth of the program, some changes are necessary to ensure that we have adequate staffing available.  Beginning in March, a reservation will be required for all children attending.  We would appreciate having your reservations by Wednesday, March 7th.  We are also asking that parents take their child’s coat with them and bring it back when picking up your child.  We do not have sufficient storage space for 40-50 winter coats. The program is in great need of volunteers to help with preparing/serving/clean-up after the meal, helping with a craft or other activity, and supervising the children while they watch a movie.  If you can help, please contact Kiffon Lewis (618)210-9628 or Jill Winte (314) 422-6734.

Ageless Grace to Resume Beginning Monday, March 5, Ageless Grace will resume from 6:15 until 7:00 pm in our Fellowship Hall.  Ageless Grace is a fitness and wellness program consisting of 21 simple exercise tools designed for all ages and abilities.  The 21 Tools have creative, imaginative names, so they are easy to remember, and are simple to do at home.  The movements are designed to be performed seated in a chair, yet they can be done on a bed, standing near or behind a chair, down on the floor, or standing.  Are all welcome to join this group.

Glen-Ed Pantry . We have now completed our Sudsy Sundays drive and are asking for donations of Men’s Toiletry items during March.  Thank you to everyone who donated!!

Donations Needed for Chicken Dinner Fundraiser . Our Youth will hold a fundraiser on Sunday, March 11th by hosting a Chicken Dinner meal at Moose Lodge 1561 from 11 am until 3 pm.  We are in need of donations of desserts (see sign-up sheets in Hospitality Room) and some volunteers to help from 2:00 until final clean up (see sign-up sheets in Hospitality Room).  Be sure to support our youth by coming to eat lunch: all-you-care-to-eat  fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, green beans, green salad, rolls and a drink.  Desserts can be purchased separately.

See you Sunday, love pastor kent
