Dear PCF family, This Sunday June 2nd will be a communion Sunday.

  • Our Sunday School will be open and ready to go, Robin is back and looking forward to seeing all her little ones.
  • A reminder, we need reservations for the June 8th BBQ at 5:00pm at the church. Please see Nelleke on Sunday to get on the reservation list. If you cannot make Sunday you can call her at 618-954-4155

Our mission for the coming BBQ  dinner is Holly’s House of Hope. Their website is http://hollyshouseofhope.org you can click that link and then go to “learn how to donate” and find out ways you can contribute. There is a wishlist on that site if you prefer to bring an item.

This Sunday I will be going back into the stories of the bible and looking how magnificently God uses the ordinary, the unknown, the untrained, the most unlikely to accomplish His will. Last week I shared a story I borrowed from an Oxford professor of mathematics, John Lennox about relationships. How Jesus loves and fully accepts you as you are and invites you to come learn a new way of life with Him.  My hope is we are all growing in this extraordinary love that only Jesus can provide.  Jesus desires to live through us so His love can still be demonstrated in a concrete way in this very divided broken world. Loving as Jesus does goes against the flow of society and its norms but that is exactly why Christianity is powerful and so set apart from all other religions.

Allow the absurdity of God’s love to flow through you! That is the best way I can describe it. It is loving the person that we “should” hate. It is forgiving and caring for the person that has hurt us. It is helping and praying for the person that has done us wrong. It’s absurd love! BUT, when implemented it is the most powerful, life changing power that exists in the universe. Come learn more! See you Sunday at 10:30am. Love, pastor kent
