Dear PCF family and friends,  We come together to be immersed in worship, teaching and prayer. Do you need a lift in the daily struggles of life,  this Sunday will bless you. One thing you can count on in life are struggles! Oh I bet that statement makes the name it and claim it preachers do a back flip! Look I am a realist and I read my bible. I personally don’t know of anyone ever who had a life free of struggles, and many people I know have had much more than mere struggles. Many have had serious setbacks, disappointments, broken hearts, great grief, and many other not so pleasant things. But so did all the main characters of the bible! It is part of the human experience in this fallen world. But there is hope and good news!

John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  Jesus

In spite of the reality of evil, pain, and suffering that exists in this world, people who have found the life changing power of Jesus and the Holy Spirit have overcome their setbacks and disappointments. They have continued on with life and learned to love, laugh, and bless others. Praise the Lord!

The following is from Jesus Calling Daily Devotional for today: I am the risen one who shines upon you always. You worship a living Deity, not some idolatrous, man made image. Your relationship with Me is meant to be vibrant and challenging, as I invade more and more areas of your life. Do not fear change, for I am making you a new creation, with old things passing away and new things continually on the horizon. When you cling to old ways and sameness, you resist My work within you. I want you to embrace all that I am doing in your life, finding your security in Me alone. It is easy to make an idol of routine, finding security within the boundaries you build around your life. Although each day contains 24 hours, every single one represents a unique set of circumstances. Don’t try to force fit today into yesterday’s mold. Instead, ask me to open your eyes, so you can find all I have prepared for you in this precious day of life.

I will be blessed to see you this Sunday at 9:00am and then again at 5:00pm for our PCF family Chicken dinner.  Love, pastor kent

Reminder: Please remember to bring your donations of cleaning supplies, personal hygiene items such as soap, toothpaste, deodorant etc. for the Good Samaritan House located in Granite City for our mission for the chicken dinner.
