PCF will meet this Sunday at 10:30am at 800 North Main Street Edwardsville.

Praise Community Fellowship is a group of people that have chosen to come together to serve and worship God. What we have in common is our love of Jesus, that is what brings us together just like the many other church groups in the area. What we do as a Spiritual Family determines our overall effectiveness as disciples of Jesus. Sometimes I think we forget the huge responsibility we each have as people who profess our belief in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. This Sunday I am going to be talking about our mission as a Spiritual family. I hope you will consider being a part of this service and discussion. God has given each of us an important mission and together we have the responsibility as Christians to fulfill that mission.

Here is some interesting information put out by the Barna Group, a company that keeps track of data about churches in America. The current average church size in the U.S. is 89 members. 85% of churches in America never reach the 200 member mark. The general public still has a great interest in having a real experience or connection to God, but many no longer seek that experience in church.

The thing we must realize as Christians wanting to do God’s work is, we must seek and find the ways to become effective for the many people who don’t see formal church as an option for Spiritual Fulfillment (Coming to know Jesus). Even though this certainly can be very frustrating, difficult, and challenging, especially to those who are so accustomed to “Traditional Church” I see this as a huge opportunity to step out in faith and explore where the Holy Spirit may lead us and use us as a very effective mission oriented church.

The Praise Community Fellowship family is already very unique in the way we operate. We have an amazing board, and we have a close knit support family. I look forward to speaking more on this Sunday and having a dialogue with all of you. Love, pastor Kent
