Great choir rehearsal last night, we are so blessed to have such an amazing dedicated choir. We have much to look forward to this fall in the music department. On Sundays make sure you follow along with the words that we put up on the screen. The lyrics are speaking God’s truth through song.
Do you have questions about the bible, God, Jesus, salvation? I hope you answered yes because I know I sure do. Questions are good but they are better when you pursue the answer. Google it, look it up in the bible, read, study, and pray asking God to help you understand things. That is what I do every day. I ask God to help me understand things that will make me be a better servant for His Kingdom. Don’t fret if you read something in the bible that just doesn’t make sense to you. That happens to me too. Even when I ask for clarification or understanding, sometimes it doesn’t come. That used to bother me but God helped me with that. The answer to me was, I get the understanding I need as I need it. We won’t understand everything in the bible. No one does! The disciples didn’t understand many of Jesus’ teachings even though they were right there with Him. Sometimes he would pull them aside and give them a deeper explanation. Today we have a huge advantage over the disciples because we can look back over the entire Old testament AND the New Testament which the disciples never had. But that isn’t even the best part of it. Since we are New Testament Christians, we have the huge advantage of the “The Promise!” which is all people who become born again Christians are given the Holy Spirit to live inside of us so that we may have God’s guidance and wisdom. All we have to do is pray for guidance and direction anytime, 24/7, 365 days a year.
We need the Holy Spirit to pray, and the Holy Spirit is necessary for redeeming others into God’s Kingdom. It is the Spirit that speaks through believers that opens the way to the Gospel message, the way, the truth, and the life. The Holy Spirit only glorifies Jesus through us. It is never about our power or talent. The Spirit works through us to Glorify our Lord.
