Dear PCF family and friends, come join your PCF family tomorrow as we kick off the Christmas month together at 9:00am. We will have communion, Christmas worship music, and I think we are going to have some very special guests joining us from Beverly Farm.
When I marry young couples, many times at the rehearsal I find that the bride and sometimes the groom are getting very nervous about the ceremony. They begin worrying about so many details such as how to enter, where to stand, the right timing of the music, how this is supposed to look, how that person better not be late, are the flowers the right color, and on and on. It is then that I usually ask this question, “Do you want to know the secret of having a perfect wedding?” I then explain that the perfect wedding has nothing to do with all the details they are worrying about. A perfect wedding is a wedding filled with JOY! Stop worrying about all the other details, they will all be fine. Don’t allow worry to steal your Joy from this precious, sacred event.
This is true with so much of our life especially this time of year. People get hectic with all the planning and all the details of the season which too often can steal the Joy from this very sacred and Holy Holiday. All of you reading this blog are part of the Christian family, believers who want to follow the Lord of the Universe. Jesus can and will change your life beyond your wildest dreams if you “Allow Him To!” The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy all that which God wants to bless you and fill you. You battle that attack by staying close to God’s word and by emerging yourself in your church family of believers. When someone is down, we surround them to lift them, pray with them, and encourage them.
As the pastor of PCF, I promise that when you come to a PCF gathering you are going to hear from God’s word. You are going to be lifted with Godly music, a Biblical message, and God willing, the power of the Holy Spirit. Because God’s power does not come from funny entertaining stories but from His book of truth. And as many of you know, when the truth of God is being taught, you can feel the power of God coming into your life. The pastor cannot change anyone except through the power of God’s Holy words being taught with the power of the Holy Spirit. That is true Spiritual food. So I ask you to join us as we enter this awesome Holy Season of Christmas.
