Greetings Praise Community Fellowship family and friends, tomorrow November 29th marks the beginning of Advent and I will be talking about this Holiday season as I have prayed about tomorrow’s message. We will once again be meeting on Facebook at 10:00am. That is when we are live but the sermon is recorded and can be viewed anytime.
We meet to stay connected to the vine. I don’t care who you are, Jesus made it very clear, “without me you can do nothing!”
John 15:4-6 “Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself but must remain in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me.I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown away like a branch and dries up; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.”
In what do you excel? Baking, cooking, golf, fixing things, business, making people laugh, art, music, making money, gardening, most people excel at something. Being connected to the vine (Jesus) is a way to excel in spiritual growth. This past week has been very busy for me in a way that is outside my normal routine and because of that I did not spend nearly the time I usually do to focus on my daily devotionals and bible study. So last night I went to God in prayer and asked for help with a message for this Sunday. I sought the Lord and He answered. Seek and you shall find. Be a perpetual seeker when it comes to the teachings of Jesus and the things of God. It is the only way I have found to stay connected, and when you are connected, all things become possible! This time of year there are many needs. There is lack, loneliness, depression, fear. These are all needs that require intervention of some kind. If you have a need go to Jesus in prayer. Seek Him diligently! Then, go to where He directs you. We are a Christian family who believes in Jesus’ teachings which includes helping those with needs.
Our Beverly farm names for Christmas: We are down to 8 names. These are folks that have no family and we provide Christmas gifts to these special people. Sally Mclauchlin has the names and the wish lists if you would like to participate in this Holiday ministry. You can reach Sally at 618-978-3490.
Looking forward to being with all of you tomorrow at 10:00am! Praise Community Fellowship facebook page. Love, pastor kent
