Good morning PCF family, this past Sunday my Kent Parable was about my false belief that men’s dress jackets had fake pockets because they are sewn shut. My belief was false but it was based on my experience. I had many jackets and all of the pockets were sewn shut, I didn’t know the truth of the matter that all new jacket pockets on men’s suit jackets are sewn shut and need to be opened to be functional. Think about that last line, “They need to be opened to be functional!” Our hearts need to be opened to God’s truth to be functional as God intended. All of us have, and probably still do, carry some false beliefs about things. When we give our life to Jesus, meaning we accept as truth what the bible teaches about who He is and why He came, we become a new person. 2 Corinthians 5:17 “For if a man belongs to Christ, he is a new person. The old life is gone. New life has begun.” We gather on Sunday mornings to express our gratitude to Jesus for what He has done for us, He has come to open our hearts to the truth that He has paid the price for all of our sins and that we are now accepted into God’s eternal Kingdom. We call that salvation, and salvation is for everyone who believes in Jesus, the one God has sent to open our spiritual eyes and heart to the truth of God’s plan.
God’s truth changes lives. Come immerse yourself into God’s truth where you will find true treasure of Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness, and Self Control. It is a new way of life, the life of living in truth. Pastor Kent
