First a big thank you to the choir and to all the communion servers that made yesterday’s service so wonderful!  The choir from left to right: Rick Coy, Marla Grant, Ella Ahrens, Jennifer Kaburick, Ann Beatty, Lori Rodgers, Sandy Curran, Krista Kell, Tyler Mackey, Mike Beatty, In the back supporting the choir: Bonni Schuette, and Al Kaburick.  Our Communion servers and communion team: Ken Winchester, Sally Mc Laughlin, Gary Watson, Cathy Watson, John Grant.  I pray lives were touched yesterday by the powerful music and God’s words. Now we must get back into the trenches to continue our work to bring the Gospel to the lost.

1 Corinthians 1:18  For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

People who don’t know God and people who just out and out reject God and the truths of the bible find the things of God not only foolish but many times as a personal assault. I think some people are afraid of the Christian movement because it represents a power and a truth that they cannot overcome. The power of the Gospel message brings all sin and wrong living into the light.  There was a time when almost all sin and sinners loved the darkness and secrecy. But what I see happening in society today is, sin is just being flaunted right out in the open. There seems to be a huge rise in the loss of common decency and common sense. The church’s mission has never been more needed. We are to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel and to promote all the teaching found in the book of truth. It is the most important mission in the world. People need to know and hear the truth fo God’s word. We are to flood the darkness of the world with God’s light. It is an extremely difficult mission on many levels but one of the huge hurdles is found in the bible verse quoted above, “The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing!  The church has to overcome the foolishness of the world to get the message to those perishing. People are worried about the possibility of WWIII. I think the church has already entered WWIII. It is the war against satan in this world and all the havoc and evil he is causing.

Look at these bible truths:

2 Timothy 3:1-5 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,  without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,  treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—  having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

2 Timothy 4:3-4  For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

My message to all of you reading this blog, stay with Jesus and His truth because in the end, He wins!
Our Prayer list Updates:
  • Paige Burton update, While Paige is still recovering from her hip surgery , her husband Gary fell off a ladder last week and broke his heal in 3 places and is going into surgery today. I will be in contact with them to see if they need any help. But in the meantime we lift both Paige and Gary to God’s healing power.
  • Jason Burton update, Jason is a good friend of Gary and Cathy Watson. Jason is in his 40’s with a young family and has been diagnosed with cancer. Jason got some not so good news this past week. His PET scan showed that the latest round of Chemo was not working so he will now have a stem cell procedure. Cathy and Gary informed me that he is also fighting the insurance company over treatment coverage. We are asking for prayers that his insurance company approves the latest treatment plan!
  • Beverly Farm, like so many places throughout the country, Beverly Farm is experiencing severe employee shortages. This is particularly hard on care giving facilities because of the absolute necessity of the residents needing proper care. Beverly Farm needs to hire about 150 care givers ASAP. Lord, we need a miracle. Please send the right 150 people to fill the vacancies at BF so that residents can continue to receive proper care and that the workers who are there can get back to a more manageable schedule.
  • Jim Cerbie, Jim is Bill and Judy Daubenspeck’s Brother-in-law. Jim is 87 and has inoperable lung cancer and has been diagnosed with Alzheimers. We lift Jim and his wife to God’s peace, strength and comfort.
  • The people of Ukraine and Russia who do not want the war.
  • Don Kruckeberg, Continued prayers for God’s Healing peace and strength. We pray that Don may be surrounded with God’s love and peace.
