I read an interesting headline this morning during my morning devotions, “Are You Being Shaped by the Savior or Warped by the World? We are in the world but are not to be of the world. In John 15:19 Jesus says: 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. This is Jesus talking to His disciples but I believe it has important meaning to us today. When we stay true to Jesus’ teachings we are going to go against the grain of the society we live in and that will cause those who do not know the Lord to lash out at us. There is no getting around it. People who are living in sin without a savior are living in darkness and the darkness does not like the light of truth. As a midweek assignment read Psalm 2 and then ask yourself if you can relate to what David is saying. It certainly sounds like it was written for us today. Then read Psalm 1 and see who is blessed by the Lord.
This next Sunday May 22nd I am planning on talking about the life changing power of prayer.

- Rusty Burian I spoke with Rusty this morning and he is doing really good and should be back to full function soon. Sheryl will be now getting her other knee surgery scheduled.
- Gary Burton and Paige Burton, continued prayers for Gary’s foot surgery recovery and continued prayers for recovery from Paige’s hip surgery.
- Jason Burton, we are asking for prayers that Jason will respond to a new treatment he will be receiving at Barnes. It’s called CAR T cell therapy. Lord we ask that you bless this therapy so that Jason goes into complete remission.
- The people of Ukraine and Russia who do not want the war.
- Jim Cerbie, Jim is Bill and Judy Daubenspeck’s Brother-in-law. Jim is 87 and has inoperable lung cancer and has been diagnosed with Alzheimers. We lift Jim and his wife to God’s peace, strength and comfort.
- Don Kruckeberg, Continued prayers for God’s Healing peace and strength. We pray that Don may be surrounded with God’s love and peace.
